Mary Foxworth
With Degrees in Law, Political Science, and a Masters of Social Science in the field of Criminology, Foxworth is passionate about critically analysing external power systems, including religion, government, education, and legal systems, and their impact on suppressing our innate sexual power. The impact of these external power systems could manifest in several ways, including feeling pressured to ‘perform’ during sexual experiences and to behave or experience sex in a certain way. These pressures and expectations on ourselves and our partners inhibit and restrict our innate sexual power – our most powerful, joyful, creative, life affirming, and life giving energy.
Foxworth encourages her clients to challenge these external powers through reframing sexuality and encouraging her clients to discover their own sexuality and pleasure. Foxworth actively reclaims her creative sexual power through performing burlesque. Prior to becoming a Certified Sexologist, Foxworth worked in corporate banking in Hong Kong for six years and for The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime in Bangkok in the Criminal Justice team. These experiences have enhanced Foxworth’s understanding of the impact of external power systems on our innate sexual power.
Certified by the American Board of Sexology as a Certified Sexologist, and Certified Inclusive Sex and Relationship Coach, Mary Foxworth is qualified to support the sexual wellness needs of all members of our society with equal respect. This includes groups whose needs have often been neglected, overlooked, or under-resourced, including our seniors, persons with different abilities, neurodiverse people, and members of the LGBTQIA community. Mary Foxworth is also able to support her clients through working together with medical professionals including mental health practitioners and physiotherapists to support the holistic health journey of her clients.
